(WBAP/KLIF) — A Texas man gets prison time for swindling elderly women out of millions.

52-year-old Fola Alabi was sentenced, Tuesday, to more than three years in prison, ordered to pay $1.5 million in restitution, and forfeit his over $500,000 home for a romance scam that targeted 70 to 80 year old widows or divorced women. The Richmond man used the identities and images of real U.S. Military Generals, which enticed one widow from Rhode Island to hand over $60,000 to supposedly pay for the shipment of the general’s personal belongings to the U.S.
Victims were spread over nine states, including Tennessee, California, Arizona, and Texas.
