(WBAP/KLIF) — Motorists driving between Dallas and Rockwall Counties are closer to having a safer commute.
The Texas Department of Transportation and local officials held a groundbreaking ceremony in Rockwall for the much-anticipated I-30 expansion project. TXDOT Engineer Ceason Clemens says the stretch from Bass Pro Drive to the Hunt County line will be increased from six to eight lanes.
Clemens says the $334-million project will add continuous frontage roads across with over a thousand concrete columns for road bridges over Lake Ray Hubbard. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2027.
