(WBAP/KLIF) — The Frisco City Council gave the green light for Universal to build a theme park in the city’s Fields development. After comments from Cobb Hill neighborhood residents asking to table measure, the city council pushed forward with a vote.

According to Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney, the city had addressed the concerns brought forth by residents, which prompted Universal officials to make concessions. the company agreed to build a community walking path around the theme park.
The city council voted 4-2 in favor of the development. One council member voted against the measure, while one abstained, desiring to table it. Procedurally, both votes are officially recorded as against the motion.
