New Mobile Market Targets Food Insecurity in Tarrant County

(WBAP/KLIF) — Arlington Charities has launched its first-ever mobile market, bringing food to communities in need. A new food delivery truck plans to deliver up to 1,200 pounds of food each week to needy communities in Southeast Tarrant County.

Arlington Charities Mobile Market Unveiling

County Court Commissioner Alisa Simmons says the truck will make two to four stops each day to provide fresh produce, dairy, proteins, and shelf-stable products for children in under-served communities.

A new mobile market is being rolled out by Arlington Charities to service communities experiencing food insecurity. Simmons says the $242,000 mobile market truck was purchased with American Rescue Plan funding.

The Arlington Charities Mobile Market will deliver food up to four days a week in the communities of Southeast Tarrant County, Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Kennedale.
