EPA to Demolish Contaminated Site in Dallas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The demolition of a contaminated site in Dallas is being demolished.

According to the City of Dallas, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Community Advisor Group Members, and Dallas City Council Member Tennell Atkins will host an event at the Lane Plating Superfund. Guests will witness the demolition of the electroplating facility and recognize the work of local, state and federal officials working on the site’s cleanup.

The Lane Plating Superfund Site is located at 5322 Bonnie View Road. Lane Plating Works, Inc., is a former electroplating facility that operated for more than 90 years. The facility conducted hard chromium and cadmium plating.

The approximately five-acre property is near a residential and commercial area and according to the city is one of the most contaminated sites in the country.
