(WBAP/KLIF) — A North Texas airline is resuming international flights from DFW. The travel industry continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Evidence of that was recently announced by Fort-Worth based American Airlines, as the company will resume flights to Tokyo, Japan, during the summer of 2023.
It’s been three years since American Airlines offered flights from DFW International airport to Tokyo, and will offer a nonstop service to the Land of the Rising Sun aboard a Boeing 787. The flights were last operated during the summer of 2020, but Japanese COVID-19 travel restrictions shut the route down.
The airline also announced it will double the number of flights to both Rome and Paris in April of next year. The moves are based on COVID-19 travel restrictions being relaxed in Japan, France, and Italy. According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, direct flights from DFW International Airport to Tokyo are 13 hours, Rome 10 hours, and Paris 9 hours.
