Baby girl and father dead after AMBER Alert out of Rosenberg, TX

Sugarland, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A one-year old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert issued last night out of Rosenberg, Texas was pronounced dead this morning after being taken to a hospital.

Sugarland police say Leylani Ordonez had been abducted by her father last night around 6pm. The father, 24-year old Alexander Ordonez is also dead from a self-inflicted stab wound.

Police say Ordonez ahd stabbed a man and stole his tow truck before driving to where the child was being watched by her babysitter Tuesday.





Overnight around 2 a.m. one of several police agencies that were assisting in the search for the suspect spotted him which led to a lengthy chase.

Spike strips were laid to stop the vehicle. When the suspect eventually stopped and got out of the truck, he was holding the child who police say was bloodied. Ordonez then stabbed himself.

Both he and the baby were taken to a hospital where both were pronounced dead.

Police say that the girl’s mother and father were not together.
