Lucas was arrested in October of 2020 after he shot and killed Jonathan Price. Lucas claims price refused 20 verbal commands and reached for his taser. Lee Merritt is the attorney for the Price family and says the choice to use deadly force was not warranted. The prosecution will show the jury body cam footage evidence later this week.

The defense argues Price reached for the officers taser, however, the Texas Rangers called Lucas’ actions “not objectionably reasonable.”
