Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – Former NBA Dennis Rodman who is known who player plans to go to Russia in an effort to try to secure the release of WNBA star and Baylor alum Brittney Griner.
Rodman has previously traveled to both North Korea and Russia in the past to engaged in informal diplomacy,and considers North Korea dictator Kim Jung Un a “friend.”
Rodman said on NBC News on Sunday that he “got permission” to go to Russia and that he plans to go this week.
A U.S. State Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Sunday the agency was aware of reports of Rodman’s intended travel to Russia. The spokesperson also pointed to their Level 4 travel advisory when it came to Americans traveling to Russia.
