DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson said on Wednesday that he doesn’t mind taking another week to ensure his colleagues can get comfortable the with the review of City Manager T.C. Broadnax’s job performance.

“”I look forward to discussing our city’’s direction and future next week,” Mayor Johnson said.

On Tuesday announced that the City Council will plan to proceed with the city manager’s performance evaluation and any related vote next week. City Council members Paula Blackmon, Cara Mendelsohn, and Gay Willis canceled their special-called meeting Wednesday in anticipation of the discussion next week. That means, the mayor does not plan to go into executive session on the item that had been scheduled for Wednesday’s briefing meeting.

Several of the City Council members who had initially asked the mayor to place the executive session item on the June 15 agenda have since expressed their desire to revert to the process planned by the Ad Hoc Committee on Administrative Affairs, which had tentatively called for a potential June 23 special-called meeting.
