AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) – Scottie Scheffler has captured his first major championship with a three-shot victory at the Masters. The world’s top-ranked player lived up to the hype coming into Augusta after winning three of his last five tournaments. He four-putted for double-bogey at the 18th but still closed with a 1-under 71. Rory McIlroy was the runner-up after shooting 64 for the round of the day. Cameron Smith closed within one shot of the lead in the early going, but the famous 12th hole in Amen Corner finished off his chances. Smith dumped one in the water and wound up with a triple-bogey.
