Rio Grande City; Texas (WBAP/KLIF) – Star County, Texas officials say a 26 year old woman is charged with murder after “she caused the death of an individual be self-induced abortion”. Lizelle Herrera is jailed on a half million dollar bond in Rio Grande City, on the U.S.-Mexico border. It is not clear how Herrera is alleged to have been involved.
Texas has the most restrictive abortion law in the nation, banning abortion for women as early as six weeks of pregnancy, including in situations of rape or incest.
