EF-1 Tornado Confirmed in Collin County

BLUE RIDGE (WEBAP/KLIF) – The National Weather Service confirmed on Tuesday that an EF-1 tornado touched down near Blue Ridge during Monday night’s storms.

According to Collin County Judge Chris Hill, several structures sustained damage, and one family in Blue Ridge lost their home and their belongings.

A benevolence fund has been established at First Baptist Church in Blue Ridge to assist families with immediate needs. The church is not accepting donations of physical goods like clothes and blankets.

No injuries or casualties have been reported in the storms.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management is asking residents to report damages they received from the storms on April 4.

The Collin County Emergency Management Department and the Collin County Public Works Department have completed an initial survey of the damage across the county. Eight county roads are currently closed due to flooding or fallen trees, and road crews are working to open these roads as soon as possible (County Road 331, County Road 400, County Road 504, County Road 557, County Road 580, County Road 590, County Road 602, and County Road 1220 at County Road 472).
