(WBAP/KLIF) — A U.S. Postal Service employee has pleaded guilty to stealing stimulus checks from North Texans.
For nearly three months Darius Williams stole federal stimulus checks from people along his Dallas route and sold them to others for fraudulent deposit. Williams worked at the Oak Lawn post office between March and May of 2021 and took photos of himself surrounded by opened envelopes of Federal stimulus checks.
According to WFAA, the former postal employee pleaded guilty on March 22nd and agreed to a prison sentence of up to five years and a fine of up to $250,000.
