(WARSAW) – In a live speech to Americans and people around the world, President Joe Biden called on NATO nations to remain united against Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and elsewhere, and noted “pain” is likely for some time. Biden spoke from the Polish Palace in Warsaw, Poland, after visiting with some refugees who’d crossed the border of Ukraine into Poland.
Biden said Putin cannot remain in power. He reiterated the content of several meetings ahead of Russia’s Ukrainian invasion in which Russians stated several times they had no intention of invading Ukraine. Biden noted several thousand Russian citizens have been arrested and jailed for decrying the violence in Ukraine.
Biden also appeared to speak directly to President Putin, warning him not to “even think” about invading territory belonging to the NATO nations that hug the border of Ukraine.
