DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas embroidery shop is becoming a hub for donations to the people of Ukraine as the Russian invasion rages on.
Ukie Style Embroidery is tucked into a shopping center near Preston Road and 635. It is Ukrainian owned. The shop is typically filled with cultural décor and clothes. But on Tuesday the retail was overshadowed by the pile of combat boots on the floor, next to the stack of bulletproof vests and fatigues that are being boxed up and shipped out.
“We are in contact with actual people on the ground in Ukraine,” said the store’s owner. “Local defense battalions and volunteers.”
The business has recently converted to a non-profit so it can focus on providing relief to Ukraine. Donations are being accepted daily. Clothes, money, and sleeping bags are among the most needed donations.
