Dallas DA’s Office Announces Charges Against Officers Involved in Summer 2020 Protests

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas County District Attorney’s office Is filing criminal charges against two Dallas police officers for their alleged actions during the protests of 2020.

Senior Corporal Ryan Mabry and former Senior Corporal Melvin Williams are both charged with several counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon by a Public Servant and Official Oppression.

Williams was fired January 25th by Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia after he was caught on video last summer punching a man during a protest in Deep Ellum

Both men are expected to turn themselves in.
