FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Winter Storm Watch for all of North Texas, including the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon.

Heavy mixed winter precipitation is possible with total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of up to three tenths of an inch possible.

The Weather Service reports travel could be very difficult. Ice accumulations and gusty winds could cause power outages.

North Texans are encouraged to be prepared.

Energy experts throughout the state are not predicting a repeat of forced outages on an overwhelmed power grid which happened during a lengthy arctic blast last February.
