HOUSTON – WBAP/KLIF – A manhunt is underway for the gunman Houston Police say opened fire immediately upon exiting his vehicle when pulled over early Sunday morning for a traffic violation. Police say 47 year old Corporal Charles Galloway was killed by multiple shots fired from an assault style weapon. Officials call it an “ambush attack”.
The manhunt initially focused on the suspect’s vehicle; a white Toyota Avalon. The suspect was described as a young Hispanic male.
Galloway is one of three deputies from the Precinct Five office lost in the line of duty, and like the others, worked a toll road. He served Harris County for more than twelve years, and leaves behind a daughter and a sister.
