MCKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF)- A McKinney-based non profit is collecting pajamas for seniors in need across the metroplex and even for the nursing homes affected by the tornadoes in Kentucky and Arizona
Jo Alt with “Pajamas for Seniors” says nursing homes don’t get many visitors on Christmas.
“They don’t have presents to open or family around them so providing a new pajama for them to have on Christmas morning can make such a difference,” said Alt.
She said they have collected 3,000 donations so far and will be distributing them before and after Christmas.
She said the majority of nursing home residents arrive wearing only a hospital gown and many seniors do not have resources for new sleepwear.
You can make a donation on the Pajamas for Seniors website or drop off pajamas at their office at 705 N. Church Street McKinney, TX 75069.
The non-profits goal for 2021 is to raise $100,000 which would allow us to give away over 8,000 pairs of new pajamas. In Dallas County alone there are 16,000 adults residing in nursing homes and far too many are living in the lowest income areas of DFW.
