Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – In connection with a December 6th crash that left a 72-year old motorcyclist hospitalized with serious injuries, McKinney Police have determined that Prosper Mayor Ray Smith left the scene instead of stopping to determine if a person was involved and render aid if needed.
Meantime, police have identified the at-fault driver as Mia Rho who they say failed to yield while turning onto W. University drive, causing smith to slam his brakes; and, causing the motorcyclist who was not driving at a safe distance slam into Smith’s pickup truck.
Smith told police that he continued driving in pursuit of the car that he believed had hit him.
a grand jury will determine if smith will be charged.
Smith offered up prayers for the victim at the start of Tuesday night’s city council meeting
Meantime, he told our media partner WFAA-TV why he never got out of his truck. carver’s lawyer Brian Mincher says the mayor should have known a bike hit him.

Police also determined that Smith was not driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
