FRISCO (WBAP/KLIF) – Classes at Frisco Lone Star High School were canceled on Monday because of a social media threat.
According to Frisco ISD, administrators received information on Sunday night regarding a threat to Lone Star High School. It followed a separate threat received Friday.
After consulting with the Frisco Police Department, FISD decided to cancel classes and events at Lone Star High School on Monday to best ensure the safety of students and staff members.
“The initial threat came in the form of a social media post Friday and the second threat was via email Sunday evening,” the district said in a statement released Monday. “The safety and security of students and staff is of the utmost importance to Frisco ISD. At this time, only classes for Monday are cancelled, but more information regarding when classes will resume will be communicated as soon as possible.”
The Frisco Police Department was present at the Lone Star campus on Monday to investigate the origin of the social media post and email.
