DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The man accused of killing 18 elderly women is on trial this week in Dallas County.
Billy Chemirmir is accused of posing as a maintenance worker at senior living facilities before killing and robbing his victims.
Chemirmir pleaded not guilty and faces up to life in prison without parole, if convicted.
Following opening statements on Monday, jurors were shown video of a police interview with 91-year-old Mary Bartel who says she survived an attack from Chemirmir.
Investigators with the Plano Police Department also testified to the department’s response to a number of cases involving Chemirmir.
