Houston Police Investigating Fatal Concert Crush

Houston (WBAP/KLIF) – Houston authorities are investigating the causes of Friday night’s crowd surge at a concert that left at least eight people dead, and dozens injured. They say they will focus on key causes behind the surge, and what could have been done to get attendees out of harm’s way. While the Houston Police homicide and narcotics bureaus are conducting the investigation, Police Department officials insist they are not dealing with a crime scene. They do know the crowd at the Astroworld Music Festival was tightly packed, and they have been told by attendees that when the 50,000 or so attendees surged forward those on the inside were crushed against each other, and found it very difficult to breathe.
