PLANO (WBAP/KLIF)- Plano Mayor John Muns announces plans for the third-annual Plano Families First Fall Fair.
Garnering community-wide support from local business and nonprofit sectors, it will provide an array of services to those seeking community, educational and career services and resources.
“Plano is a vibrant and diverse city, home to a wealth of businesses and people but it is critical that we equip our Plano families with the tools to thrive and live well and that means first and foremost, we are healthy and safe,” said Muns.
The fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Plano Event Center.
The Fall Fair is free and open to families who reside in Plano or attend Plano schools.
The event will provide flu shots, health and dental screenings, entertainment, a Job Fair and free school supplies for the first 200 children. While a few of the health services will be indoors, most of the fair will be held outdoors.
Also on tap are CPR demos led by the Plano Fire Department, book giveaways, kids crafts, inflatables, superhero appearances by Wonder Woman and Spiderman, entertainment, and a “petting zoo” where children can learn and play with musical instruments provided by the Plano Symphony Orchestra.
The Job Fair will bring together a variety of employers looking to fill full-time, part-time and seasonal positions, and a career corner will provide adults with resume tips and a free LinkedIn headshot taken by a professional photographer.
Volunteers are needed for the event. For additional information and to sign up to volunteers click here.
