WAXAHACHIE (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Waxahachie community is mourning the death of a local teen after a car crash claimed her life and left five others seriously injured.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said 16-year-old Titiana Errisuriz was driving and lost control of the car, missed a curve and hit a culvert at 122 Shoreside Trail Saturday afternoon.
The others in the car were also injured and are recovering in the hospital. At least one person has been released.
Errisuriz’ family said she was about to start her junior year at Waxahachie Global High School.
Her sister told WFAA TV her presence will be missed.
“She made everybody laughed no matter what. She would crack a joke anywhere anytime. She had a huge heart,” she said.
Officials at Waxahachie Global High School said grief counselors will be on hand Monday to help students deal with the loss.
“It is with great sadness that we have learned multiple Waxahachie ISD students were involved in a car accident this afternoon. While we are unable to share any information about the accident at this time, we ask that you please join the entire Waxahachie ISD family in praying for the young people involved in the accident, as well as their families, friends, and teachers.” said the district in a statement.
There will also be a candlelight vigil at the school Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
