The ABLE program teachers Officers tactics meant to cut down on mistakes and prevent misconduct. Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said Thursday that the program is a proactive tool for police.
“We all have our issues, but if departments that aren’t in crisis look ahead and say let’s implement this training before we’re in a crisis, then I think it will be beneficial to all. Chief Garcia said.
Earlier this year, the Dallas City Council approved $300,000 for the Caruth Police Institute at the University of North Texas at Dallas to bring the training to DPD.
