Wise County, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – The Wise County Sheriff’s Department is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest of the suspect they say shot and wounded a rhome police officer on Sunday.
The department issued an old photo of 43-year old Royce Edward Wood over the weekend. he’s shown with a bald head, mustache and beard.
Wood, who is the suspect in a home invasion on Saturday, shot at the officer during a traffic stop Sunday night. Wood has a past conviction for robbery and burglary of a habitation.
Wood is on the run and considered dangerous, according Sheriff Akin who said they also found meth in Wood’s motorcycle.
The officer is at home recovering from a leg wound.
