Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – State Senate debate on a controversial open carry bill abruptly stopped
Wednesday night when Texas state senator Brandon Creighton collapsed on the floor of the Senate. Creighton was revived by another senator who is an emergency room doctor, and escorted out of the Senate chamber by DPS troopers. Creighton was involved in a traffic accident about a week ago, and had returned to his senatorial duties only a few hours previously on Wednesday after several days of recuperation. Debate on the proposed legislation resumed after Creighton left the Senate chamber.
