PLANO (WBAP/KLIF)- The HEB grocery company announced they will be opening two flagship stores in Plano and Frisco.
The future stores will be the first HEB stores in North Texas, joining the company’s existing central market store locations.
HEB said the decision to expand into the DFW area was to “build on the company’s longstanding presence in the area and reinforce its commitment to serve more customers in this dynamic and growing part of Texas.”
“Today is a great day for The City of Plano and our residents,” said Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere.
“We are very excited about today’s announcement that HEB is opening a new store in our city at the southwest corner of Spring Creek Parkway and Preston Road. H-E-B is one of the most beloved Brands in Texas. The future H-E-B store, along with a second one in Frisco are the company’s first H-E-B stores in North Texas. It will join one of the company’s four Central Market concept stores already in Plano. We are so proud H-E-B chose the City of Excellence to launch their ever-popular grocery concept locally. This flagship store will add to the fabric of our community and that makes us Texan and special. Welcome H-E-B”
The stores are scheduled to open Fall 2022.
Groundbreaking is expected to begin this Summer.
