FOX NEWS – A third holding/processing facility for incoming children seeking asylum in the United States is due to open in Pecos, Texas, soon, Fox News reports. The federal government is said to be caring for as many as 15,000 children who have arrived at the border unaccompanied, seeking a home in the United States; most with relatives or sponsors.
The number of would-be applicant children are outpacing the mandatory background and safety checks accepting U.S. residents must undergo before the migrant children can be released.
At present, the Biden Administration says with few exceptions, only the unaccompanied children are being allowed into the United States for asylum applications; the White House indicates most families and single adults are being turned away at the border. However, Fox News now reports the Rio Grande Valley sector of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol is considering releasing many of the adult migrants without papers mandating their appearance for an asylum hearing with U S officials, simply because the numbers of would-be applicants arriving are overwhelming officials.
Governor Greg Abbott continues to accuse President Biden of importing Covid-19 into the U.S. via immigrants; despite CNN reporting Texas did not approve a federal grand to fund Covid-19 testing for Border Patrol detainees.
