AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas could become home to a COVID-19 vaccination “super-site,” according to Governor Greg Abbott.
The Governor tweeted on Monday that Texas is working with FEMA to establish the sites, which could include Dallas and Houston.
Texas is working with FEMA to create some Super Sites for vaccinations.
Initially it would likely be 2 sites with 5000-6000 additional vaccinations per day, 7 days a week for 8 weeks.
It would likely start in Houston & Dallas — with possible expansion to other locations.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said late last month that the county had been communicating with FEMA about a potential location for a so called mega-center.
“Things are moving along very quickly and we are hoping that we will be able to add that force multiplier,” Judge Jenkins said.
According to the Governor, the concept would consist of 5,000 to 6,000 additional vaccinations per day, 7 days a week for close to two months.
