City of Denton Hosts Virtual State of the City

DENTON (WBAP/KLIF)- The City of Denton is hosting a virtual State of the City event 2/4 at 6pm.

“City of Denton, we need your support!” said Mayor Gerard Hudspeth. “While we all know circumstances will keep us all from meeting in person this year, I will address the entire city for the first time, and reflect on the previous year, at the State of the City event. This event is designed to answer questions for our community, show what the City of Denton has been up to over the last year and, more importantly, providing a peek at what’s in store for 2021,” he said.
Live Event Information

The State of the City will be broadcast on Facebook, DTV (Frontier FiOS on channel 38, Charter Spectrum on channel 194, and Grande on channel 12) and the City’s web site.

The live event will kick off with a video looking back on the momentous year that was 2020 followed by introductions of the Denton City Council members. The highlight of the evening will be a question and answer session with Mayor Hudspeth where he will answer questions submitted prior to the event by community members.

Recordings of the live event will be available for future viewing at www.cityofdenton.com/publicmeetings.

Knowing not all community members can attend the event, City staff will share videos via its social media channels that highlight major departmental projects and programs so that residents can still learn about what is going on in Denton and how their local government is working for
them.

In addition to the posted videos and Mayor’s interview, the City of Denton Annual Report for
2020 will be available. In addition to major accomplishments, business process improvements, and cost containment strategies from the previous year the report also includes upcoming projects to better the Denton community.
