WASHINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – Former Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne is urging her colleagues in the House of Representatives to refuse contributions from Big Tech companies including Google, Apple, Facebook Twitter and Amazon.
In a letter to members of the house the freshman congresswoman says the companies abuse their power and market dominance to censor conservative voices and she pledged to refuse any and all campaign contributions in the future. She wrote “last week, this censorship reached a new, concerning level as Twitter permanently banned the President of the United States.”
She added “ the permanent suspension of Trump from the platforms has revealed a stunning double standard,” slamming the social media companies for allowing content from leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and Iran to continue to use their platforms.
Van Duyne pledges to refuse any and all campaign contributions in the future. Her office reports she did not receive any contributions from Big Tech during her run for Congress.
