Ted Cruz Effort to Reject Electoral Votes Gaining Steam

(WBAP/KLIF) — A growing group of Republicans plan to oppose the electoral votes during the certification of the 2020 Presidential Election. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is gaining recruits in a bid to reject the certification.

Lawmakers are set to vote on certifying the election this week, but Cruz and other lawmakers are calling for a committee to investigate voter fraud.

Constitutional law expert David Coale confirm that, procedurally, a path does exists to invalidate a state’s electoral votes, however, he says the move is almost sure to fail, but cites other possible motives of why Cruz would push the issue.

Coale believes the move, headed by Senator Cruz, is more of a historical asterisk to the certification and a political stand for his constituents.

Democrats are also accusing President Trump of “abuse of power” after a phone call between the president and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was leaked.

The Trump Campaign still believes massive voter fraud occurred in the state of Georgia during the 2020 election. Coale comments on president trump’s urging of Raffensperger to find more votes.

Meanwhile, the president will hold a rally in Dalton, Georgia, Tuesday, to boost Republican turnout in the senate runoff election.
