Dallas Police Under New Leadership as Chief Hall says Goodbye

Chief Eddie Garcia

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Police Department is turning the page as 2021 begins.

Thursday officially marked the last day on duty for Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall who resigned to pursue other opportunities.

Interim Chief Lonzo Anderson takes control of the department until retired San Jose Chief Eddie Garcia takes over in February. Garcia pledged earlier this week to embrace the community when he arrives.

“I’m not a stay in the Office kind of Chief,” said Chief Garcia. “I will be visiting every station. I will be visiting all parts of our city and I will be out and be visible.”

Chief Hall’s tenure lasted just over three years.
