Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – The U.S. Postal Service has acknowledged that it’s having problems with the unprecedented amount of packages being mailed during the holiday season.
In Pennsylvania large mail truck are sitting full of packages in parking lots, because there is no room in the postal facilities.
The U.S. Postal Service said it is doing the best it can, under trying circumstances, and has asked for patience, saying they are experiencing “unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to the impacts of COVID-19.”
FedEx, UPS and the US Postal Service are handling a record number of shipments because of a huge increase in online purchases.
As if that weren’t keeping them busy enough, a major winter storm is about to hit the Northeastern United States.
The @USPS is backed up because #UPS and #FedEx use them for last-mile delivery, so definitely expect long delays in receiving your packages for Christmas and New Years!! #USPS @CNN @NBCNews @CBSNews pic.twitter.com/xipF0A121Q
