SPCA of Texas, Local Non-Profits’ Comfort and Joy Donation Drive Underway

DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Thousands of shelter animals in North Texas are still waiting for a loving  home and the SPCA of Texas is asking the public to help make their lives a little brighter until that happens, especially during the holidays.

The organization joined forces with the Humane Society of North Texas, Dallas Animal Services, Irving Animal Services and Fort Worth Animal Care & Control to sponsor the “Comfort and Joy Donation Drive.”

The SPCA of Texas’ Madeline Yeaman Arnold said they’re in need of key items.

“We’re really looking for toys for our animals. Just like people, they want to have toys around the holiday season. That and when it colder outside like it finally is here in North Texas, we’re looking for blankets as well,” she said. The group is also asking for canned food and treats.

Donors are asked to give a specific amount because the group says little goes a long way.

“Whether it’s a blanket for them to snuggle in when they’re in their kennel and they’re feeling a little scared…and they need that blanket or bed to feel secure. Or, if that want that toy to keep them from getting bored,” said Yeaman Arnold.

The “Comfort and Joy Donation Drive” is underway right now and ends January 2nd.
