Irving (WBAP/KLIF) – An Irving firefighter was seriously injured early Sunday morning when he was run down by a drunk driver going the wrong way on Highway 183. It happened a little before 4:00 AM. The firefighter was a member of a police and fire crew that was dealing with a five vehicle accident on 183 near Story Road. Police say 23 year old Yajaira Calderon was drunk, and driving the wrong way when she roared into the accident scene, ran down and injured the firefighter. He’s hospitalized in critical condition. She’s been arrested.
