Ellis County elected its first black elected official this past election. Now the County’s offices are being renovated and offered temporary offices.
The problem is the temp offices are in the basement near a painted sign saying “NEGROS”. The sign was painted there back in the old days of Democrat segregation. There is a plaque under the sign explaining WHAT happened and WHY it’s STILL there. Curtis Polk JR says it’s not about race but just wants another office.
