Undated (WBAP/KLIF) _ With the results of the presidential race still up in the air, demonstrators held a peaceful rally at Dallas City Hall Wednesday evening. Their message was they wanted all ballots to be counted.

A number of different organizations attended and speakers talked to the crowd of around 100 people.

A candlelight vigil was held that featured tea light candles on the ground, spelling out the words, “Count Every Vote.”

The Dallas Morning News’ Megan Cardona captured video from the rally:

Police were not at the gathering in force, as the group stayed calm during the event.

Such was not the case in other parts of the country where similar demonstrations turned violent.

A riot was declared in Portland, Oregon, and protesters took to the streets in Seattle as people demand that every vote in Tuesday’s election be counted. Hundreds of people were protesting in both cities against President Donald Trump‘s court challenges to stop the vote count in battleground states.

Other skirmishes took place in New York and LA::

Meantime, dozens of angry supporters of President Trump converged on vote-counting centers in Detroit and Phoenix as returns went against the president Wednesday in the two key states.

The protests came as the president repeatedly insisted without evidence that there were major problems with the voting and the ballot counting, and as Republicans filed suit in multiple states, preparing to contest election results.
