Rockwall (WBAP/KLIF) – Rockwall Police were involved in a peculiar sort of shooting Friday night. Shortly before midnight officers were sent to investigate a shooting in a residential neighborhood west of Lake Ray Hubbard. They found a shooting victim, and located a suspect. As officers were trying to detain him, he began struggling. During that struggle, the suspect produced a gun, and shot himself. The bullet passed through his body, and hit a Rockwall Police Sergeant in the chest. The sergeant was wearing a bullet proof vest, and suffered only minor injuries. The shooting suspect died. The Texas Rangers have been called in to lead the investigation.
