DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating individuals who may have information related to protesters who were injured during protests over the summer.
District Attorney John Creuzot said on Thursday that he is looking into potential crimes by Police related to use of force in the May 30 Dallas protests over the death of George Floyd.
“On May 30, at approximately 4:00 p.m., we believe a citizen was struck by a projectile fired by a Dallas Police Officer near the Dallas Public Library,” the District Attorney’s Office said in a statement. “This individual suffered a very serious facial injury. The videos in our possession do not show the projectile being fired; however, you are able to hear it and see the projectile land on the ground near the citizen. There were several
individuals who appear to have been recording and/or taking photos at this time. We are hopeful that these individuals will work with our office and provide information to assist in our investigation.”
According to Creuzot, the individuals he needs to locate are not in trouble.
“We need their help and the help of the public to investigate these occurrences,” he said.
The Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s Office would like to review any videos or photographs that may have captured the moments surrounding the incidents. Anyone with information or potential evidence regarding injuries related to the actions of law enforcement officers during the protests is asked to call 214-653-3714 or send an email to [email protected]
