PLANO (WBAP/KLIF) – Campaigning in North Texas is in full force with the general election just days away.
Senator John Cornyn rolled into Downtown Plano Thursday afternoon in a double decker campaign bus painted with the Texas flag. He was greeted by dozens of supporters. Many of them had already voted but said it was important to generate energy around Senator Cornyn and other Republican campaigns.
“To me it’s like going to a parade,” a supporter said. “You go to a parade and you see a lot of people there. It excites the base.”
In a race that according to Senator Cornyn has seen money from outside Texas go to his opponent M.J. Hegar, the crowd had a message for those speculating a blue wave.
“Come and take it, come and take it,” they repeated.
The momentum around this election and the push to “get out the vote” isn’t limited to Republicans. The Biden-Harris bust tour continues to make it’s way through Texas and Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris will campaign Friday in the Lone Star State.
