FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The organizers of this weekend’s Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show will make history this year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be North Texas’ first-ever drive-in air show.
Alliance Air Productions while guests will be treated to the popular air show, the experience will not include static displays, exhibitors, kids’ inflatables, paid seating areas or chalets.
Guests will also have to abide by the show’s coronavirus restrictions and wear a mask, with a few exceptions.
- Guests inside their cars.
- Anyone under the age 10.
- Anyone with a medical condition or disability that prevents them from wearing a mask.
- Anyone who is eating or drinking.
Social distancing measures will be in place throughout the event to help prevent the spread of the virus.
AAP said the parking space next to each car will be left open for guests to sit safely as they watch the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and other performers.
It’s the 30th anniversary of the show and organizers wanted to thank patrons for their continued support amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Thank you for your patience during these challenging times as we work to bring the first North Texas drive-in air show experience to life October 17th-18th,” said the AAP in a statement.
