FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – A joint investigation between Fort Worth Police and the U.S. Secret Service led the arrest and conviction of a North Texas man who videotaped the sexual assault of a child.
U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Erin Nealy Cox said 34-year-old Chester Devin Leban of Fort Worth was sentenced to 30 years after pleading guilty in January to sexual exploitation of a child.
Investigators said in July of 2018, Fort Worth police responded to a domestic disturbance call where officers met with Mr. Leban’s estranged wife.
She told officers she found child pornography on Mr. Leban’s cell phone.
After undergoing questioning by detectives, Leban admitted to using his cell phone to record a sexually explicit encounter with an adult, Emily Conner, and a 5-month old baby.
Conner pleaded guilty in January and was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.
Both defendants must serve a lifetime of supervised release after serving their time.
The case is part of the Justice Department’s Project Safe Childhood, which aims to fight the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide.
The program joins federal, state and local resources to better find and prosecute those who exploit children online and rescue the victims.
