(WBAP/KLIF) — The public got an opportunity to voice their opinions, Thursday night, about Texas Education Agency allegations of financial misconduct by the DeSoto Independent School District Board.
Former board member Jerry Hall said the school board refused to do anything about the inappropriate spending it knew about. The TEA report showed over $300,000 in charges for travel and lodging. The 18-page report indicates former administration employees could face a criminal investigation for 50 fraudulent credit card purchases to fictitious vendors.
A TEA investigation found that actions by former superintendent David Harris and the school boardled to the current $21.6 million deficit. One DeSoto mother addressed the current board’s lack of accountability.
