WATCH: Senator Cornyn Praises Texans’ Feedback as Senate Debates Next Relief Bill

Senator John Cornyn

WASHINGTON D.C. (WBAP/KLIF) – U.S. Senator John Cornyn spoke on the Senate floor this week about importance of feedback he received from Texans during the State Work Period.

As Cornyn returns to the Senate he and his colleagues plan to push for the next coronavirus relief legislation.

“I was glad to get back home and spend some time talking to the men and women who are continuing to deal with the hurdles brought on by this pandemic,” Cornyn said. “I’ve heard from medical professionals on the front lines of this fight, researchers and scientists that are racing to find treatments and vaccines, small business owners just hanging on by the skin of their teeth, trying to keep their businesses afloat and their employees’ jobs intact.”

Cornyn said the feedback has been invaluable to the work of the Senate as it has worked to pass four coronavirus bills to support them since the pandemic started.

“I come back to Washington with fresh ideas and I’m eager to get to work so we can provide additional support for the Texans who have been impacted so dramatically by this virus,” he added.

Cornyn said education, business, and agriculture are among his top priorities.
