Houston (WBAP/KLIF) – The city of Houston has begun two days of public mourning for George Floyd who was killed while in Minneapolis Police custody. Floyd grew up in Houston’s third ward, and will be buried there Tuesday morning, following Monday’s public visitation at Houston’s Fountain of Praise Church.
Among the mourners paying their respects is former vice-president, now Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden. Biden is meeting privately with Floyd’s family, but will not attend Tuesday’s funeral service. Biden’s aides say he’s staying away to keep his presence from becoming a distraction.
