Protests Continue Despite Charges in George Floyd Case

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The call for justice in the death of George Floyd has not been silenced by the recent charges brought against the Minneapolis Police Officers involved.

Video showed Floyd die after being pinned to the ground by the knee of an Officer while three others did nothing to stop him.

Many North Texans don’t believe charges alone are enough.

“Now we need a conviction,” a Dallas protester said.

“There’s no justice in a charge,” said another demonstrator. “An indictment and a proper sentencing is where the justice will come.”

At a scheduled march in Downtown Dallas, organizers told the crowd that all of America is watching what happens in Minnesota.

“If that guy does not get convicted then what you small at the start of these riots is a small taste of what your going to see from the vengeance of the community,” said an emotional Dallas native.

Protesters credited recent mass protest for the arrests.
“Without public out cry, without people who care, without people like us out here putting our foot on the necks of justice, we’re not going to get it,” said a protestor demanding justice.
Protesters insisted that demonstrations won’t stop until change is made in Policing.

The Dallas March began at City Hall before moving west to Dealey Plaza. About 500 people participated. Demonstrations were also held in Fort Worth. Both cities remain under curfew.
